The educational sector plays a central role in the change in society through digitization. The Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) contributes significantly to this development e.g. with the online learning platform openHPI. Hence, the HPI publishes technical reports about this matter and shares experience.
A particular point of interest for people navigating in this new environment is digital sovereignty. This means that everyone stays in control of his or her data. The Project MERLOT deals intensively with this issue.
The technical report „Digitale Souveränität: Erkenntnisse aus dem deutschen Bildungssektor“ describes how to work with this topic. Three particular use cases were investigated: the openHPI platform (individual sovereignty), the HPI “Schul-Cloud” (state sovereignty), and MERLOT (economic sovereignty).
